Est. 2016 — Oxford & Cambridge
Bridging the brightest minds at Oxford and Cambridge with the world of institutional finance. We cultivate the next generation of investment professionals through hands-on fund management, rigorous research, and unparalleled industry access.
Who We Are
Founded in 2016, the Oxbridge Student Investment Council was established to close the gap between world-class academic inquiry and the demands of modern financial markets.
OSIC exists to empower ambitious students at the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge with the knowledge, network, and practical skills to excel in the world of investment and finance. We believe that the analytical rigour cultivated in our universities, when paired with real-world market experience, produces investment professionals of exceptional calibre.
Our members gain direct exposure to portfolio management, equity research, fixed-income analysis, and alternative investments — moving beyond the lecture hall to engage with live markets and seasoned practitioners. Through our managed fund, research publications, and speaker programmes, OSIC provides a launchpad for careers in investment banking, asset management, hedge funds, and private equity.
To be the premier student investment organisation in Europe — a community where intellectual curiosity, ethical responsibility, and financial expertise converge to shape the future leaders of the global investment industry.
Every thesis is challenged, every assumption stress-tested. We demand evidence-based thinking.
Oxford and Cambridge united — our cross-university model fosters diverse perspectives and deeper insight.
We integrate ESG principles and responsible stewardship into every aspect of our investment process.
From mentorship to mock interviews, we prepare members for the most competitive roles in finance.
What We Do
Four flagship pillars designed to develop well-rounded, market-ready investment professionals.
Our flagship programme grants members hands-on responsibility for a real investment portfolio. Analysts pitch ideas, construct models, and execute trades across equities, fixed income, and alternatives. The fund is governed by an investment committee that mirrors institutional best practices.
Members produce institutional-quality equity research, macroeconomic analysis, and thematic reports published to our partner network. Research analysts develop the writing, modelling, and critical-thinking skills prized by top-tier employers.
Each term we host leading figures from the investment world — portfolio managers, chief economists, venture capitalists, and policymakers — for intimate, candid discussions on markets, careers, and the future of finance.
Every member is paired with an OSIC alumnus working in investment banking, asset management, private equity, or hedge funds. Mentors provide guidance on career strategy, technical preparation, and navigating the recruiting process.
